It appears I must redact this! The driver was working great this morning, wirelessly and all, but when I came home later in the day, I found that my bluetooth device wasn't working at all anymore. I've attempted installing the bluetooth device' drivers again to no avail. The only thing that would make the device functional again was uninstalling the drivers for the DS3. Upon installing them again, the bluetooth instantly disappears from my system.

Between this morning and now, I temporarily disabled the bluetooth and wireless on the laptop using Fn+F2. It's a habit of mine to disable such things when they're not needed.

Edit: Messing around with this some more, the server tool does notice when I disable and then re-enable the bluetooth adapter. For some strange reason, when I do this, the DS3 controller functions through bluetooth after I do this, but not before. The bluetooth device is still generally disabled for other purposes, on the other hand.
I feel like I've explained this over and over again on here, lol. The Bluetooth has to work solely for the ds3 controllers, meaning that you can't use ds3 controllers AND regular Bluetooth devices at the same time, the ds3 drivers pretty much have to isolate the Bluetooth to work. Scarlet has explained this a bit in a previous post, as a bug within the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. This has nothing to due with Scarlett's wrapper specifically, as all other ds3 drivers for windows do the same: motioninjoy, winds3, etc. the only work around is to either use ds3 strictly through USB, or do like I did, and use two Bluetooth adapters. One specifically isolated for the ds3 controllers, while the other works like a regular Bluetooth for your other Bluetooth enabled devices. Smile

Edit: I think I misread your last message lol. It sounded at first more like you were surprised that other devices weren't working. My apologies. Anyway, the info is there again for anyone who didn't see it before. It's unlucky that your having such luck, unfortunately. I haven't had any real serious issues with Scarlet's wrapper. It sounds like your Bluetooth device is built into your PC. May I ask what models of both your PC and Bluetooth adapter are? Smile
I have a question. I'm in a predicament and was hoping for some help. I have a laptop with fried USB ports. I have another laptop that can manually set the bluetooth address. This is how I sync my DS3 to my android device. Can I manually sync my DS3 to the laptop with fried USB ports? Please, any help would be amazing.
Woot! This is awesome! A much, much cleaner solution than anything I've come across.

Scarlet.Crush, might you add the following VID/PID to the package?

USB\VID_05AC&PID_821A

It's the Broadcom adapter built into late 2011 MacBook Pros (aptly labeled "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth"). I'll test and give feedback.

Thanks!
Kenzya, this is just a toss up, as its new, but there is a jailbreak app called blutrol for iOS devices. They just released an update with ds3 support, along with it a pairing program for windows and Mac that allows you to set the MAC address for the ds3 device. This is for the fact that iOS devices don't have USB ports to automatically do the pairing. So, if you know the MAC address of your Bluetooth on your laptop, you can use the other laptops working USB ports to connect the ds3, then change the MAC address using the program. Not sure off hand but I believe the program is called sixaxis pairing. You may have to google for it. Again, the pairing program is NOT blutrol itself, but sixaxis pairing tool. Let us know how it goes, because it worked to pair with my iPhone, but I haven't tried to pair it to my PC. You will still need Scarlet's wrapper installed to Bluetooth though if its going to work. Good luck Smile

EDIT: sorry, I was at work when I sent that. I decided to look it up for you since I just got home. the program is called "Sixaxis pair tool". here is the link to it. Smile

please let us know. im particularly curious because I have two Bluetooth adapters in my setup, and I dual boot both windows and mac. on the mac side, it doesn't play nice with two Bluetooth adapters, and I would like to have my ds3's paired to the same Bluetooth, but osx demands to use my other one lol. so when I get the chance, im going to try this tool to see if I can pair them between both os's. would make pairing a lot easier when switching sides lol
Scarlet.Crush, might you add the following VID/PID to the package?

USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3002&REV_0001
USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3002

Please and Thanks,

Jay
@unvaluablespace

I can see your frustration with the matter, but this is a pretty big thread at this point! An important detail like that should really be included in the original post or the post with all the bluetooth downloads in it. Not that you have any control over those, of course.

But yes, the issue is partially that the bluetooth doesn't even connect with the controller all the time, and I'm not sure of the exact sequence of events required to make the pairing work. The laptop in question is an Asus G75V, with a built-in bluetooth adapter from Atheros.
Yes but I'm pointing it out because its an issue not related to just Scarlet's wrapper, its common throughout all Bluetooth ds3 drivers for windows. I point it out so people clearly understand that its an issue out of Scarlet's hands, because a couple of people in previous posts have jumped to the conclusion that its an error on his part, which it is not. Smile

As for your Bluetooth, maybe its just not compatible? Scarlet's wrapper is still relatively new and in beta, but I believe motioninjoy and others have compatibility issues with certain Bluetooth devices as well.
@Zeddidragon: unvaluablespace is correct, you must dedicate a Bluetooth Dongle to DS3 use. The drivers support up to 4 DS3s connected via one dongle, this is a limitation of XInput not of the drivers.

I've added a note to the top of the download post, the reason for this is a limitation of the DS3s Bluetooth implementation - hence the need for the Bluetooth drivers in the first place.

There does seem to be an issue with Atheros based built-in Bluetooth adapters (seems to be specific to the BTH/Wifi combo). The adapter appears to go in to a low power state after a period of inactivity, which causes the BTH radio receiver to be shutdown. As far as I can tell the drivers are not informed of this. It sounds like when you Disable then Enable the BTH adapter it is re-initialised and is brought out of this state.

I have an external Atheros based BTH dongle (Asus BT211), it does not exhibit the behaviour you described.

Can you check something on your Power Plan settings - Control Panel -> Power Options. On your active Power Plan -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings. Expand the USB node, and post what your Selective Suspend is set for. [See attachment]

Primary reason for having the Beta is to identify and resolve issues like these.

@kenzya: yes, you can manually set the DS3s Bluetooth address, in the same manner as for your Android device, and it will be usable on your laptop with fried USB ports.

@protomouse: added your hardware id, see Post #301.

@prospect.jp: your hardware id is already included, it was one of the first added as I own a dongle with this Id (Asus BT211). see Post #301.
Selective suspend was enabled both while plugged in and on battery. I've disabled those now and will report back on how that works out.
