Is there a reason why your "ScpService.exe" is showing up under network traffic in resource monitor? Its registering as 7KB/s. I've also had a suspicious activity on my email account from China that I have never had before (I installed this software a day and a half ago and the activity was 4 hours ago)

Not trying to accuse or anything, but it has made me wary and disabled the drivers.
Nvm on my last post. I tried something else and now my controller works.
@cblair: cool that you got it working. What did you do, in case anyone else has a similar problem?

@jhun23: not really much I can do to help, does Rumble work on your controller when plugged in to a PS3?

@mqk9999: the drivers do not connect to any external site, they do use localhost UDP connections to talk to each other [this is strictly internal to your machine]. See Post #592 for a description.

You can verify this on Windows 7 by running Resource Monitor - Task Manager -> Performance Tab -> Resource Monitor. See screenshot for my test PC (cyblade.spartan.local). Note that the totals for Send & Receive are the same, so no data is leaving the machine.

If you disable your network card, you will see that the network activity is not changed. Verifying that all activity is internal to your machine.

Full source code for all the components is provided so that you can examine / build / debug the source code.
Scarlet.Crush, me again Smile

Really, really fantastic tool you provided us. Thank you again.

I've checked the 2 dualshocks and both are recognised, and work perfectly.

I have 2 small questions. I was wondering how to find out what is the status of battery without the PS3. I found out that apparently I should be able to find that info in the log's when disconnecting the gamepad from usb. However I cannot find that indicator anywhere (I'm talking about LOW MEDIUM FULL NONE etc). It should be in the "ScpService.log" file?

I also found out that you made the led blink whenever the gamepad will reach the Medium battery level which is fantastic for me, nicely done. Is there any possibility to change the level upon which the led will start blinking? For instance, if I'd like to change it from MEDIUM to LOW?

Second question is regarding the order of the gamepads. I'm only curious, it's not like it interferes with gaming. I wanted to ask if there is any way to change the order of gamepad mappings, as once it's done, always one gamepad will be #1 and the other will be #2, no matter in which order they were "turned on".
I switched from USB 2.0 port to USB 3.0 port. Apparently that did the trick Smile
@soyo: the ScpMonitor tool displays the Battery status.

When connected via USB - Battery Status wil be Charging or Charged [Screenshot - Pad 1]. (Charging in this case)

When connected via BTH - Battery status will show the Battery Level [Screenshot - Pad 2]. (Full in this case)

The LED starts flashing if the Battery Level is below Medium, ie when it switches from Medium -> Low.

If the LED starts flashing you can just plug it in to USB, without interrupting any game you are playing. Switchover from BTH -> USB takes around 0.5 seconds.

Similarily you can unplug from USB to switch to BTH. It takes a few seconds for the DS3 to connect via BTH, so you would probably want to pause your game while it connects. ScpMonitor will show the Pad as Reserved during the switch over.

The DS3s are recognized by thier BTH Mac Address and the order is fixed by what order they are identified when the Service starts. USB connected pads first, then pads as they are connected by BTH. The fixed order is so that you can switch seemlessly from USB -> BTH or BTH -> USB without the Pad Id changing.

If you want them in a specific order, disconnect them from USB. Reboot or restart the Service. Then connect via BTH in the order you want.

Damn, should have guessed it Wink

Thanks. It is exactly as you described.

Perfect!

All clear.

Thanks for your answers, and again and again Wink for your great tool! Motioninjoy can go hide in shame.

Important - make sure your Bluetooth dongle and DS3(s) are plugged in via USB before running ScpDriver.exe. Make sure you have the latest DirectX redist installed and the latest X360 drivers available.

The inbox X360 drivers that ship with Windows 7 are outdated and may cause stability issues - it is highly recommended that you install the Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories software from this link before installing the drivers.

New Install
1. Connect your Dongle and DS3 via USB and let Windows install it's default drivers.
2. Unpack the archive.
3. Create a directory where you want the Service to run from. *
4. Copy the contents of the ScpServer\bin to the directory you created.
5. Run ScpDriver.exe.
6. Click Install.
7. Click Exit.

* I use C:\Program Files\Scarlet.Crush Productions - create from an elevated command prompt if you have UAC enabled. The directory should not be created anywhere off your User directory (eg on your Desktop, or in your Downloads directory), it should also not be on a Network drive.

Update from Beta 1
1. Close ScpMonitor.
2. Run <install dir>\ScpDriver.exe.
3. Ensure Configure Service is checked, then click Uninstall.
4. Unpack the archive.
5. Delete the contents of <install-dir>
5. Copy the contents of the archives ScpServer\bin to <install-dir>.
6. Run ScpDriver.exe.
7. Click Install.
8. Click Exit.

Pairing a DS3 to your Bluetooth Dongle - plug in the DS3 to USB while the Service is running, the DS3 will be automatically paired if required.

Hey there, I'm on a surface pro and I'd like to use the integrated bluetooth (I don't have any other bluetooth device so dedicating it to pure ps3 controls isn't a problem for me)

hardware Ids:
USB\VID_1286&PID_2044&REV_3201&MI_00
USB\VID_1286&PID_2044&MI_00

can you add the hardware id for this?

Thanks
keep up the good work

Edit: awesome!
