You start ScpService (SCP DS3 Service) by right clicking the task bar, then go to administrative tools, then under the "services" tab there is a "services" button, click it, look for "SCP DS3 Service", right click it and choose "stop" or "start" (There is an image in post #1561, pag 157. That image shows where do you will find the "SCP DS3 Service", but it doesn't show the service because an issue with that user (existingdark) installation).
hi Scarlet Crush,
I'd like to thank you for this awesome piece of software. I can play my games using my ps3 ds3 controller.
I have an issue with the bluetooth though. The controller just does not connect via BT. It works fine with the usb.
I have Win7 64 bit installed on my dell machine and the BT hard ware id is:
USB\VID_413C&PID_8160&REV_0173
USB\VID_413C&PID_8160

Can you please help me out with this? Thanks.
Can you please add USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_3164
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001
to the supported BT driver Thx.

Thank you so much! II'm not sure if my BT is supported with this tool, how can I find out? And here is my previous post that maybe you can help me with. Also what is Joy To Key? (Here's the post):

I followed your instructions and everything works when wired! However, when I unplugged my DS3, the lights were blinking, my pc's bult-in bluetooth couldn't find it, and the DS3 eventually shut off. Win 8 64-bit. I was running MotioninJoy before. Maybe I didn't fully uninstall it.. But my Bluetooth is Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® 4.0 and the hardware id's are:

USB\VID_8087&PID_07DC&REV_0001
USB\VID_8087&PID_07DC

I tried searching this thread but I couldn't find the solution although I'm sure it's there. What do you guys think the problem is?

(Extra): Also how do I configure the DS3 with Project64 and other emulators?

Thank you all for your help and for this tool!

The list of supported dongles is in the first page of this thread, but apparently your dongle isn't supported, although there is an almost similar hardware id that is supported: USB\VID_8087&PID_07DA. So you have 2 options:
1. Buy a new BT dongle
2. Add your current dongle to the BthWinUsb.inf file (at your own risk)

Between the two I would choose the first, I don't think it is a good idea to use a pc built in BT because if you use your BT for the DS3 controller then you won't be able to use it for other devices anymore. Now, if you don't want to expend more money then the 2nd alternative is the right for you, the problem is that I don't know how to do that and apparently it carries some risks, in any case I recommend you to read post #1514 (pag 152) onwards.

EDIT: I said it could involve some risks but I think (after rereading posts #1530 and #1534) it is just that he wants you to take full responsability from your actions instead of blaming him if something unfortunate happens (and I agree with that, but when you read it sounds too scary Wacko)

Great thank you! I'll go with the first option. Could you help me with these issues:

#1) If I uninstall this tool do I have to reinstall my original bluetooth drivers?
#2) Is this bluetooth dongle compatible with this tool?: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DMLZ...UTF8&psc=1)
#3) If I play with this controller using the USB for now, would I have to uninstall and reinstall the tool when I get the BT dongle so I can sync the dongle with the controller?
#4) How can I add multiple controllers to play with friends at the same time?
#5) Can I use a regular Sony sixaxis controller with this tool?
#6) And finally, I'm trying to configure the DS3 controller with Project64 I can't get the dpad to work when changing the settings. The dpad is backwards.

I hope I gave you some worthy questions Wink Thanks man you're one of the few helping us out! I will start reading #1514 (pg 152) and onwards asap.

#1.
I think NO. The first Bluetooth I tried wasn't compatible (it lacked EDR), so I unistalled ScpDriver and surprisingly the drivers went back to the original BT drivers (that were Generic BT drivers automatically installed by Windows). That was my case, maybe yours will be different (you used a pc built-in BT), but give it a try, installing the drivers again (if necessary) won't be a big deal.

#2.
Trendnet TBW-107UB (Version 1.0R)
that Bluetooth supports EDR and works fine, its hardware id is:
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_8891
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001
I use it now, it replaced the USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_0134 (a generic one). The Trendnet one came with a CD that let you install the BlueSoleil programm, that then will install the drivers, but I DID NOT install the blueSoleil program, I connected the Bluetooth dongle directly and use the generic drivers already installed, and as I say, it works without any issues at all. I didn't install the bluesoleil program because the user guide reads that you need to unistall previous bluetooth drivers and I was afraid it could bring some problems with the ScpDriver.

#3.
YES. Maybe it isn't necessary to unistall it, but I don't know any other way to use the new BT dongle without unistalling the ScpDriver and installing it again.

#4.
If I remember correctly you just need to connect it via USB cable, stop the "SCP DS3 Service" then start it again so the controllers get paired with the BT dongle, then unplug them and press the PS button on each one of them, it should be enough. I recommend to run as administrator (right click it and select "run as administrator") the ScP Monitor in the Scarlet Crush folder to see if the controllers go from "disconnect" to "BT 0000xxxx" where xxxx are any numbers.

#5.
Regular sixaxis? Do you mean the ps3 controller previous to the Dualshock3? Well, if I remember correctly, yes you can (give it a try, it won't explode Laugh)

#6.
I see, last time I used that emulator was like 5 years ago, so I can't help you with that, BUT I recommend you to use JoyToKey, it's free and allows you to map your keyboard keys to any controller you have connected to the pc (wired or wirelessly). This allows you to use your controller in any (yes, ANY) pc game, why? because any pc game accepts a keyboard as an input device, and JoyToKey allows mapping any keyboard to any controller device that works with windows. I recommend to download it from the creator's site:
http://joytokey.net/en/
it is EXTREMELY easy to use and it is FREE (although if you are a nice guy with enough money you can "buy" the license for around $7), and by FREE I mean FREE until you or your pc die (or another catastrophy that disable you from using this blessed gift). You will find short tutorials of how to use it just by googling it, piece of cake. I use it for all my pc games, it allows me to use the "rapid fire" or "turbo" function (hold a button to trigger repeated presses) that saves me from mashing that damage the buttons in the long run, it also allows me to use all my controller inputs (buttons + sticks + d-pad directionals) in the way I want, without being limited by the default "controller configuration screen" inside every game. It is a gift from heaven, man. Plus you can use your controller as a "remote control device" (like in the TVs), for instance you can lie on your bed while watching a movie on your pc and adjust the sound level using your gamepad, or pausing the movie, or minimize the window, etc.

Hope this help you, I will check the thread tomorrow.
The Bluetooth driver doesn't seem to work with Windows 8.1. USB works though, but it's a shame.

The problem is, Windows 8.1 keeps installing the CSR Bluetooth Chip driver for me, not the DS3 SCP Bluetooth Drivers.

do you checked the "force install" box before clicking the "install" button? I know it says you do it just for Windows xp and other, but someimes you need to do this even in Windows 7 and Windows 8.
(09-26-2013, 09:14 PM)quaestor Wrote: [ -> ]Desperately need this -> SCP-DS3-Driver-Package-1.0.0.103-Bth-Update-11.7z

for this -> USB\VID_05AC&PID_8216

but I don't see where I can download it...

(Note that it is Update 11... I can of course use any update after that, but I don't see those either.)

P.S. No, that VID/PID pair is not in SCP-DS3-Driver-Package-1.0.0.103.7z nor in SCP-DS3-Driver-Package-0.8.0.100-Bth-Update-17.7z

EDIT for posterity: My bad. Should've been 8218, not 8216. Regardless, neither is there. The workaround is to edit the INF file, putting the VID/PID in both the x86 and x64 sections, then uninstall/reinstall. You will have to "force install" and go through the Windows warning dialog about unsigned drivers (at least on 7; I don't know if this is even possible on 8). One peculiarity for me was that it took a couple of tries and a long time "untethered" before the controller finally synced over BT.

You can download "SCP-DS3-Driver-Package-1.0.0.103-Bth-Update-12.7z" from post #1521 in page 153.
