Scarlett,
I got curious after your last comment to me about the controller being so new. I have some old broken ps3 controllers that i keep on hand for parts, and they still work good enough to power on and such. Anyways, I plugged them all into my pc, and with your program, all 3 I had connected both via usb, and once I unplugged them, bluetooth! this is so awesome! I Can't believe how you single handedly made something so frustrating, so easy to get running! they even all paired at the same time, with the lights on the controllers properly lit to let me know which was which controller.
you have no idea how awesome you are! haha.
Now for the bad news. I guess you are right about my new controller.
the only actual working controller I have doesn't connect properly via bluetooth. bummer. Is there anything we can do to get it working for compatibility? I gaurantee it IS a sony branded model. bought it from a retail store, at retail price, with sony branding. knockoffs are usually easy to spot lol.
What was best about this, was thanks to Tsusai's tip on enabling the service, all the controllers that paired via bluetooth, did so even after I restarted my computer, and it was so seemless, it was as if it was naturally compatible with windows, lol.
Anyways, if it helps you any, I thought I would point out that with the newer controller not pairing, I noticed that what happens is upon unplugging, my pc makes the "device found" sound again, to let me know it found the controller via bluetooth. in devices and printers on my control panel, the playstation 3 controller icon disappears upon unplugging via usb, and the xbox 360 controller icon pops up. I can click on it and go into controller settings, but in that window none of the buttons respond. Also, while the controllers that paired properly lit there respective lights, the led lights on my newer ps3 controller all kept flashing as if still trying to pair, and never fully established connection.
Hope you can help me get my controller working. I want to buy another one as well for two player games when I have friends over. so im guessing finding an older ps3 controller model won't be easy here lol. if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.
