i enabled patches and start the game
pcsx2 gives an error
it says

when i start the game first and then enable patch
the game works fine but nothing happens (no cheat activated)

sorry for my bad english

start PCSX2 with patches disabled. hit suspend and enable them. then hit resume this will enable cheats if a game crashes upon start when loading them. (.hack/infection has this issue)

also, try the new beta, 1888 is outdated now
