@gamemasterplc, you sure have done it again! Every text that I could find ingame is fixed now! Aside from a small issue with the "effects" in the item and wumpa fruit indicators after you get 10 fruits not showing up, the rest of the game is now 100% widescreen compatible:
The small FMVs on the select stage list also don't play, but those were glitched anyways with Pete'sOGL2. The glitched Uka-Uka in the hints screen always happened and seems to be random; sometimes he's normal, other times he's like that XD. It happens with Aku-Aku as well, but I don't know what triggers it.
Recorded at 1280x720@60, ResHack X/Y 4/3, xBRz x3, no fullscreen filter, FXAA shader enabled. I used PGXP's "Memory only" mode, and CPU overclock was at x1.25. Upscaled the video to 2140x1080.

I practically adored PGXP before learning how to use Mednafen. The GTE hack implemented by tapeq doesn't work on PGXP levels of amazingness, but for the accuracy and input response, Mednafen is now my primary choice for PSX emulation. But if someone re-re-(re?)-revamps PCSX (yes, the OG one) by cleaning its structure, and of course, have the PGXP source into it, I'll immediately jump branches (brazilian idiom that means to be indecisive, like a monkey who keeps changing branches; I don't know an english equivalent, but it kinda works for the emulation world XD) again.

I witnessed the efforts that iCatButler, the original author of PGXP, had put into it for more than a year, him alone. Than he tried expanding it by introducing PGXP to the Retroarch guys, and it got a release. But nobody cared... he tried maintaining the PCSX-R branch, and also helped on improving the Beetle branch for some time, but it was still only him doing the work. Now, he's nowhere to be seen...
I really don't know why no one else with the knowledge takes on this task. It's even open source, unlike most of Pete's works, where people craved to know the insides of his (then) amazing plugins. The original PCSXR-PGXP thread on NGEmu is still somewhat active, but improvements aren't in sight, sadly.
