I'll be removing the portaudio dependency requirement shortly. That should help fix this problem. The DLL will only be needed if you want to use the portaudio driver.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what could be wrong still. Please give us any information you might think is helpful yet.
crash makes all versions spu2-x above 1.2, actually I can play on PCSX2 r2168 or lower, but I cant configure this plugin, even test make crash like this posted below. Newest betas crashes even without configuration, cause it test plugins before it runs. I tried reinstalation audio drivers, or even I uninstalled it, but on Windows 7, and Xp x64 it isn't change anything. Anyway before I reinstalled visual c++ (x86), and installed (x64) all versions PCSX2 crashes, when I try run a game. When program crashes then I have 2 windows with error details.

It looks like w32pthreads crashes cause of SPU2-X.

I will try it, and post if it works or not.
Error code 80000003 is a hardcoded breakpoint and implies, typically, some sort of invalid DLL invocation. In this case I'm guessing it's related to XAudio2 or DirectX sound drivers. XA2 especially loves to throw around breakpoints like these for what it deems invalid parameters.

I'll try to think of a way to help narrow the crashpoint / cause down to some section of the code, using logging or some-such.
It looks like that all versions spu2-x that using portaudio makes this crash. I find beta pcsx2 svn r2169 that have autotest plugins, but its plugin spu2-x 1.3.0.2120 dont need portaudio, and it's not crashes program.
hi,

devil may cry work with SPU2X 1.1.0 & 1.2.0 but black screen with 1.4.0 r2693.
same with capcom vs snk 2, still work with the 1.4.0 r2693 but no sounds.

tested with pcsx2 0.9.6, 0.9.7, r1888.
I've tried newest plugin r2789 that doesn't reqiure portaudio, and it's still the same, pcsx2 crashes, when i press button configure.
Nanobreaker SLUS_21010 NTSC isnt working with SPU2-X r2693 1.4.0. I just get a black screen whenever I try to run it. It does however work with SPU2-X 1.2.0.
Hello, I want to report an issue:

The games affected:
Zero no Tsukaima: Koakuma to Harukaze no Concert [J]
Zero no Tsukaima: Muma ga Tsumugu Yokaze no Fantasy [J]
Zero no Tsukaima: Maigo no Period to Ikusen no Symphony [J]

Type of issue: A short, high-pitched sound after every sound in the game (SFX and voices)

Version used: r2840 1.4.0 (also present in the r2693 available here)

More info:
- no such issue on SPU2-X 1.2.0
- recent ZeroSPU2 and P.E.Op.S. SPU2 versions: a short, noise-like sound at the same time
- I also tried different plugin settings, but without any changes
Is that behavior changing with different kinds of speedhacks enabled?
I have all speedhacks disabled. After enabling all of them it's still the same.

Some other stuff I tried now:
- using an end-2009 PCSX2 build with the old gui: no change
- using SPU2-X r2646 1.3.0: issue still present, but in that version it's the same as with the other audio plugins: a noisy sound instead of the high-pitched one in 1.4.0
