Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.06GHz
6 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 - 1 GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Should these work? I'm asking this because my graphics card wasn't on the list, and I'm unsure if a 64-bit OS will mess up compatibility.
It will be great in most cases. Some of the most demanding games will be slow unless you overclock but the majority of games will run at or around fullspeed. The gpu is a very good card overall and will play pretty much any ps2 game at full hd or above. And there isnt any problems running on a 64-bit machine. Overall good rig for pcsx2, and a killer rig if you were to overclock.
Doesn't 64-bit actually improve performance? I was going to switch to 64-bit, but unfortunately I also use my computer for testing legacy hardware, most of which doesn't have 64-bit drivers
.
PCSX2 is a 32-bit app, doesn't get improvements in 64-bit OS.
Well, other than the larger RAM support, but I'll bet that PCSX2 doesn't even use over 3GB anyways.
Thanks for the feedback. Finally going to be able to play those long-lost PS2 games my PS2 could've played if it wasn't broken.

I do believe 32-bit programs aren't (normally) allowed to use more than 2GB (although I think there's a start-up switch to allow up to 3GB).

no, 32bit apps can use 3gb. they're unable to use anything more than that though

Not by default. You need to enable LARGEADDRESSAWARE to allow apps to use up to 3GB.

I had Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (PC, 2010) taking up 3gb of my memory, I only have 4gb total. and yes, I'm on a 32bit OS. and I haven't enabled anything outside of the basics (high performance, yadda yadda)
I've got a laptop with:
Intel Core i7 720QM 1.60GHz (turbo on 2 cores runs at around 2.4 to 2.6)
6GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 - 1GB DDR5
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I want to run Final Fantasy X/X-2/XII, Xenosaga I/II/III, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales Of Legendia.
With my laptop could I run these at or around 60 fps or even close to that. Especially wondering about Xenosaga because from what I've read it seems to be a little of the demanding side.
