Running with i3-3240 @ 3.40Ghz and a EVGA 750 Ti FTW here. Everything runs pretty smooth. Had to tweak a bit with the frame limiter and Turbo. Most games go around 30fps above.

Hi, yet another "will this run any faster on my laptop" question.
I have an Asus laptop:
i7-4700 HQ CPU @ 2.4 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M
12 GB of RAM
I mostly play Steam games on it, so this is my first foray into anything like emulation. Right now, PCSX2 is running pretty slowly, and I'm wondering if that seems right given my computer or if it should be running faster.
@addiesgirl
The Emulation speed is dependent on the game, your processor might not fare well with games which are highly demanding ( Ratchet and clank , Shadow of the colossus). but should be fine for most of the moderate games
Other than that, please make sure that you're running at high performance mode and with your charger plugged in for the ideal conditions on getting best performance on PCSX2. also make sure that no other process/service is hogging resources by monitoring via task manager. Good luck
If you still have specific speed problems with games , please explicitly mention the name of the games.

Thanks for the reply! I'm running Final Fantasy XII, which I've read isn't too demanding.
I had tweaked the wrong setting during set up and it had slowed the framerate down. Now that I've fixed it I'm getting a solid 60 fps which makes me very happy. Thank you for your advice- those are other things I need to keep in mind if I have any more problems later.
