Yeah, an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ @2.7Ghz isn't really enough to play at 50fps is it?

Depends of which games you're trying to run.
But yes, most of them will make this cpu struggle...

I have an Ivy Bridge 3570K @ 4.2 GHz so no problem with the CPU but my Nvidia GT 430 limits me to 2x internal resolution in some games.
Thinking of getting an AMD card for my next upgrade but is it true Nvidia cards runs better on PCSX2?
I would like to run at 3x or 4x internal resolution, is an AMD HD 7750 sufficient?

I see some cards with 1gb or 2gb, will it make any/much difference in ps2 emulation? I know the memory bus 64bit to 128bit+ makes a difference.

Since the graphics plugin dev uses a GeForce, you could consider PCSX2 to be a bit biased toward nVidia. I think the more modern Radeon are not as likely to encounter the "Radeon bottleneck", though.

That 7750 would handle 3x native in most occasions, but a few games/scenes may see some slowdown. A step up to a card with a 256-bit memory bus, as well as that GDDR5 data rate, would be a safer bet.

Under normal circumstances,
PCSX2 will not benefit from that much RAM.
1GB would be fine, even with upscaling.

Would the i5 2400 and HD 6850 be enough to get 60fps for Rogue Galaxy, DQ8 and the persona games at 2x native?I can't test it myself since I don't have the processor yet.

May i ask what is the best Quad Core CPU for PCSX2 I know they say that if you want to do PCSX2/gaming in general it's best to get a dual core, But well with what i am wanting to do with computers and such it's best to get a quad core, I've heard a lot of recomendations for a 3.2-3.4Ghz i7 But also i heard i5's are good but i am leaning towards a i7, this is also to record PCSX2 gameplays too so the CPU must be able to cope with that well too

im having concern on Direct x verion. its only 9.0 for Window XP SP2.
When i installed the PCX2, after the first box appears selecting language, the configuration box then ask me that directx needs to be upadated to continue to install?

would this be a problem using only directx 9.0 which is only directx compatiblewith windows xp sp2?

I dont Have a internet connection. "Even if you have the correct DirectX version installed (9.0c/10/11) and other games run fine, PCSX2 might still need the absolute latest DirectX updates ". I just updated my latest version of directx 9. offline.. but im pretty sure its the latest update.
