It Will??
Maybe some games will run okay, but that processor/GPU combination is not great.

I think that's a misconception. There are a lot of laptops that are not meant for gaming, but there are some really good laptops that will do just about anything a desktop can do. The only difference is that the awesome gaming laptop will cost much more than the gaming desktop. I don't think we should just lump all laptops in one category of "not good for gaming". His
particular laptop is
not good for gaming.
anyone knows if how many internal resolution scaling can this card go?
Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X GHZ Edition
will it work on my system my specs are : intel e55 dual core 2.8 Ghz
ati radeon hd 5450
2gb ram
Got a laptop with:
CPU: AMD A6-3400m OC'd to 2.467 Ghz (all constant, not only turbo)
RAM: 6GB 1333Mhz
GPU: HD 6755G2 (which is basically a HD 6750m + 6520g crossfired ) (Assign pcsx2 on high performance for 6750m usage).
I can say Final Fantasy X works perfect even with the default EE cyclerate and no VU cycle stealing. You can play with 5x native scaling with fairly stable 60fps (sometimes goes to 40 for a quarter of a second)
Final Fantasy XII requires a bit more of speed hacks (EE cyclerate to 1, VU cycle stealing to 2) and you'll get 60 fps. (you can still play at like 2x native no problem)
As for Dragon Quest VIII- Max out every speed hack, OC your cpu maybe a little more (to 2.53 ~2.6GHz, which isn't hard to do) and you're good to go! Though you have to run in native or at a resolution close to it. YA DIGG?!?
so what's the problem ????

Always depends on the game,
but you should find most to run great at 2x native.
3x native would quite often be possible,
and 4x native less so.

You mean Intel E5500 dual core @ 2.8Ghz...?
That would do fine with your average game and a few Speedhacks,
but your GPU could still slow some games with native resolution.
Something like a Radeon HD 5600, 6600 or 7600 would be better territory.

Ohh, I'm just giving information to people who might have similar specs wondering if pcsx2 would work on their setup. I thought this was the thread to say that?

so what would be the video card for 3x native for Valkyrie Profile Silmeria? thanks

Something quite powerful.
mine runs battles in 3x native mode without any problem.
of course, the "exploration" parts are still a bit slow in hardware mode.
