The CPU is too expensive.
You can get the same performance level with a 2500K or a 2600K if you really want HT.
Otherwise this looks like a solid build.
PCSX2 compatibility is pretty high nowadays. Check here:

I've been thinking about upgrading my CPU. I currently have a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7 (Bloomfield). Would an upgrade to the Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz help? What about Ivy Bridge (I know, not much about Ivy Bridge is concrete as far as benchmarking and the like)?
SB-E is expensive but have great performance ( mutli and single core )
the 3930K is my choice if i have the money not to mention the great OCing
just make sure you get a decent PSU and Water cooling

I am new at this forum.I need help for optimizing my pcsx2 0.9.6.I configured all what was needed and i started a game.When i enter in main menu ^new game^,^load game^ and options^ apear on 1 sec but after that they disapair and it shoves just a background of main menu,but i can hear how i move my highlighted choice.And somehow i made it to enter in new game.My fps in cutscene was 74% but when it ended my fps was 20 and characters were like when somebody started to create a game.They dont have any colors and sometimes they are invisible.I was running that in
direct 3d9(hardware) but if i set that to software my graphic is good but it is freezing too much and if i set to null it is just a white screen.I dont think it is because of my comp.I run skyrim and bf bc2 at medium settings.

First as you can see from the title this is not a place to ask about help, it's only for asking what kind of speed your PC will get for PCSX2. That said, you will never get any kind of good FPS with an ancient single core processor.
Second, PS2 emulation is totally different than native PC games and comparing the 2 is like comparing apples to oranges.
Third, you will not get support for 0.9.6, get and use the latest 0.9.8

Thanks for the reply Rama. Money is not much of a concern with me reguarding this build, so I'll probably stick with the 2700K i7.
Anybody else want to give me their opinions on my computer and if I'll get smooth gameplay with PCSX2? Or is the consensus the same as Rama's?
