Playable speeds on most games...
I'm sorry. Encouraging that may be, it wasn't the answer I was looking for. I'm going at it the wrong way, and I have to give up.
Model: HP Pavilion 15-N303tx
CPU: Intel i5-4200U @ 1.60GHZ (2.6GHz Turbo)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM
GPU: ATI Radeon 8670M and Intel HD Graphics
OS: Windows 8 64 Bit
I wanted to know if this laptop will be able to run at full 50 or 60 fps.
So far, the games that I wanted to play are Suikoden V, Suikoden III and Final Fantasy X-2.

Apart from the fmvs, ffx-2 should be playable. Suikoden 3 & 5 will be both slow.

That's a tad weak, but some light games should work quite well.
depends on which ones you actually own.
Well I just discovered emulators, and the only system I have is a PS2 with like 50 games, and I would love to be able to play them on my PC. The thing is, I'm not sure if I can do it, as it seems you need a lot more power than the PS2 itself does to run these games. I'm just looking to play my favorite games, (Ace Combat 5, Need for Speed series, Ratchet and Clank series) at around 30 FPS. With resolution, I'd be fine with lower ones, don't need full HD (but that would be nice). Mainly I'm asking because my specs aren't even on the list at the main post on this thread.
Intel i3 3220 @ 3.3 ghz
Intel HD 2500 Graphics
6 GB RAM @ 1600 MHZ
Windows 10
you won't reach 30 fps in any of those games with those specs.
sorry.

Thanks mate. Good thing I didnt bought it.
How about this one:
ASUS N56V (laptop)
Intel i7 3630QM CPU @ 2.4 Ghz
Windows 8.1 64bit
8 Gb RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M
I am not really sure if I should get an i7 or a CPU that has a higher CPU clockspeed.
you should get one that has a good STR. (check on passmark for CPUs with an STR above 2000)

the most important factor to consider while buying a new processor is to check whether they have current latest architecture , either Haswell (or) Broadwell. you could identify them by their model number 4XXX (or) 5XXX.
that's a really a
Crucial Factor since IPC usually increases from every arc updates.
