Yes ZEROx i have finaly finished GoW 2 so your not alone for those who have hang problems use GSDX ssse3 latest revision worked for me ... with this no hangs and i am not using any patch

E2140 @ 3.2 (equal to E6750 stock)
2gb ram
windows xp
8800gts 512MB G92

I will tell you what i use exactly: i downloaded the latest beta version of pcsx (1059) and then installed evereything i needed ... The important thing is to use the latest gsdx revision wich you find here http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-3031.html .after u extracted the latest pcsx and installed all the plugins and bios configure the gsdx on SSSE3 from Config->Configure->graphics ....that should be of help.If some movies are still unskipable take a look here http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-6068-page-2.html at dreadlord's last post ... hope it works ....worked for me
