Sure, there's no rush.
Good luck with the Yakuza games! But even if we can't have true "hor+" widescreen on these games, the built-in widescreen mode isn't all that bad (loosing some image content at the top and the bottom to get new content at the right and the left isn't that bad for a game with a dynamic camera).

Here we go :
Shadow Hearts 2 Covenant (PAL-M3)(SLES-82030/31)
Shadow Hearts 3 From The New World (PAL-E) (SLES-54711)

Code:
Widescreen 16:9
Search : 00000000 00000000 43AD1346 00000000
Replace : 403F013C 00008144 43AD1346 02C60046
Render-Fix
Search : 000086F8 0040033C
Replace : 000086F8 C03F033C
The bad news is, there are scenes that show glitches on the sides or at the corners, sometimes they are black or yellow. I guess this is something we cannot fix, because there is nothing that could be rendered.

P.S. : Thx for +1

Calculated value for renderfix is 3FA0, so there is no need for 3FAB because 3FAA is already more than we need - and 3FAA is the value to fit the HUD for inventory exactly.
Nice, I didn't even think to check SH. Do the same glitches appear with widescreen helper? I don't have the games available atm to check :/

maybe it's not a correct value for render fix, like it was with my first render fix value for ffx
Exist another way for SH. with widescreen helper value. it's require rebuilt whole iso, because ELF affected only on cutscenes. i think field and battle values located in FIELD.BIN and BATTLE.BIN
tested it on ntsc version SH2,but not too much.
quick and dirty values 4C3F023C CDCC to 193F023C CDCC and 4C3F033C to 193F033C. I am too lazy to finish
lol So many options. Rebuilding a 2 disc game sucks though, it's unfortunate that's the only way with Yakuza 2. Anyway for SH maybe you could change render fix to even lower value like 000086F8 403F033C...
UPDATE: Elf patch + widescreen helper =

I guess the devs assumed no one will ever see stuff like this since the camera is fixed. If you zoom out enough in Valkyrie Profile 2 you see the same thing
Is there any way a tutorial could be made on how to get widescreen via .ELF hacks? I can't find any place that explains how to, and I'd really like to see some of my favorite games like Demento, Rule of Rose, and Shadow Hearts in widescreen :3
