E-type codes can only be used with cheat devices like Codebreaker or similar.
Thanks again for explaining that. I'm only going by context here, but for future reference I'm guessing that the E-type codes are the ones that start with a small lower-case "e"? So like:
gametitle=Yakuza (U)(SLUS-21348)
comment=Widescreen
patch=1,EE,e001aaab,extended,00592d1c //If Screen setting is set to widescreen, execute these codes to fix the zoom
patch=1,EE,2023a820,extended,3c024082 //3c024049 //zoom
patch=1,EE,e0010000,extended,00592d1c //If Screen setting is set to normal, restore the values back to stock ones
patch=1,EE,2023a820,extended,3c024049
//patch=1,EE,2019fd24,extended,3c023f40 //3c023f80 //hor fov
//patch=1,EE,2023a828,extended,34480fdb //34480fdb //zoom 2
//patch=1,EE,201abb90,extended,3c014071 //3c014049 //Alt. zoom
//patch=1,EE,201abb94,extended,34290fdb //34290fdb //Alt. zoom 2
Only the two red lines contain E-type codes?

That's right, if there is nothing starting with EXXXXXXX or DXXXXXXX there are no conditionals and the address values change with what is set
The Lord of the Rings - The Third Age PAL-Spain SLES-52805 614F4CF4
the zipped pack of patches looks like it hasn't been updated since 2021.
is there a more updated pack link?

included with pcsx2 nightly
I need a Widescreen patch for the game resident evil 4 pal version SLES-53702-6BA2F6B9 I have searched but I have not found any.
anyone can help?
widescreen patches not working in "qt nightly":
the game "midnight club" runs in wide normally in the old stable version(1.6.0),
but in the qt nightly version... I enabled it in the menu, put it in a 16x9 aspect, and nothing.
the emulator does not apply alone,
(and it doesn't apply if I put the .pnach inside the "cheats" folder, and not even creating a "ws_cheats" folder.)

You might want to read this first:
https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Sticky-I...-Pnach-2-0
Basically, the PNACH format was slightly changed, also the emulator no longer uses "cheats_ws" directory anymore for WS patches but instead it uses cheats or patches directories now.
You have to rename the PNACH to GAMEID_CRC.pnach format, ex: SLUS-20946_2C6BE434.pnach for GTA San Andreas. See the game properties for the CRC.
