Hello, I probably found a widescreen bug on Conflict - Desert Storm II (E)(SLES-51523) and Conflict - Desert Storm II - Back to Baghdad (U)(SLUS-20689), is the options on the main menu and pause menu supposed to be "cut" or not "zoomed enough"? The gameplay itself is fine, I have more FOV but the main menu/pause is displayed incorrectly. Is there a way to fix it? I use a softmodded PS2 with FMCB 1.966 and OPL v1.0.0 official with PS2 Patch Engine/Cheat Device to modify the isos and also PCSX2 on very low settings because my PC is a portable potato Biggrin . Still, the results are the same on both platforms and regions.

Does anyone know if a .pnach file widescreen code can be converted for Swap Magic 3.8 format? I think Swap Magic is Action Replay format?
What format is .pnach?

[SOLVED]

Got it working with Omniconvert and Mastercode Finder.
My goal was to play original import discs on my NTSC U Slim PS2 without any hardmod, but at the same time be able to run widescreen codes.

So far all of the widescreen pnach codes I've converted from Raw Codebreaker to Action Replay V1 have worked w/ Swap Magic.
Also, every game I've converted codes for requires a Master code.

Their both RAW.

Does anyone have a working PS2RD Mastercode for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (NTSC)? I see there's a 16:9 pnach in Devina's PS2 Widescreen Archive but I cannot find a Mastercode. The Mastercode Finder tool doesn't find any candidate memory addresses for this game by scanning the ELF unfortunately. I can see codes for other cheat systems on the Web Archive version of CodeTwinks, but apparently this particular game is a tough one because it moves its memory around a lot. From what I understand, a PS2RD Mastercode must start with a 9. I tried the ones on this site by they didn't work, presumably because they're for CodeBreaker. I also tried to convert with Omniconvert but none of these produced a viable Mastercode.

Try this:

Thanks. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work with the converted 16:9 pnatch from the Widescreen Archive (I used pnach converter), which translates as:

// 16:9 by Acem
2020247c 3f400000

I tried the Mastercode above with and without the additional large code block, but no dice. The game doesn't crash on boot, but it remains in 4:3 aspect with the same FOV as usual. This is on real hardware with OPL's integrated PS2RD.

Tried using CheatDevice? Just like the Jak series games. With CheatDevice, just combine the subroutines codes with the master codes.
I was trying to get @arapapa code for Berserk NTSC-J.

Seems like it is not working, tested on a ps2 console and PCSX2 1.6.0 with no luck.
Any help would be great!
I also noticed the code is exactly the same for the NTSC K version, but I'm not sure if there is an issue there.

-Berserk for PS3, the patch for the english translation worked for me.............on the ps2 (open ps2 loader)

on the ps3 the game is too glitchy also worked there, alpha blending problem, and missing character frames

get the game, maybe from a different source, edit the .pnach file to match the crc of the game iso, and try again, goodluck

EDIT - PS2 to HDMI good results (notes)

...................

Only to remove the black bars, the actual widescreen makes the game look weird..........because, the geometry is generic........also because its zoomed out a little, emphasis on the main character's movements are detracted...............
....................
The HDMI adaptor...(have to use 1usb port it plugs in the size, for power, in addition to the adaptor itself going into the video out ps2 port)

Improves the color gradient, immediately noticable with many games, on the regular "480i" video mode...............Good enough not to worry about 480p for most games.
....................
Hot Shots Golf 4 NO SHADOWS (NTSC)
patch=1,EE,2032A1B0,extended,00000000 // disable shadow rendering, fix performance

(this is used to fix performance issues, posted on the site somewhere, on the PS3 and pc emulator, it does make the performance better on the PS2 also.............a patch to remove shadows also for hot shots golf 3, but the content of that game is included in the sequal)
...............
...............
...............
Over all, even with just the HDMI converter, the ps2 console, is the better choice for the games versus a ps3................with the exception of some games that seem to benefit from the ps3 rendering method, overall not worth it on the ps3............
