Edit: BTW has anyone gotten nemesis's Dark Cloud elf hack working? I'm especially curious about NTSC-J or PAL, because I found a very similar value (0000BF7F 803F023C 00608244 xx) but changing it does nothing. In fact I changed every instance of 803F023C 00608244 but no widescreen. I'm wondering if it's something entirely different for non NTSC-U versions
So is Genji NTSC-J. I can't find any useful value offered here same as or similar to NTSC-U version. Maybe Game Republic has changed the graphic engine when releasing it in USA.

I would like to second this request and would prefer an elf/iso hack, because this game can be forced to 480p with GSM. It looks brilliant in 480p. So it would be nice to do an elf hack so we can play this game in 16:9 480p!
@sergx yes, I remember him pm'ing me about it but only the zoom value worked. There is one D7A3F03E but it doesn't do anything. That's fine though, I can live without widescreen in some games ;p

Any idea of the values you searched for and replaced? Going by the pnach you're going for 3F400000, but using the helper program it quickly makes the game go to a black screen.
I would use your pnach, but my game has a different CRC and it fails to work. If you have any idea how you came up with your version of the patch I'd really appreciate it.

Can you force 480p using GSM and pCSX2?
Wow! Kudos to everyone contributing in this thread!
The results you guys are getting is truly fantastic, and this is gonna force me to re-play a whole bunch of good games ^_^

Never tried it in pcsx2, can´t pcsx2 force 480p by itself?
No, I don't think so. That would mean that it renders them in progressive scan. Which AFIK it does not. They have various interlace modes and auto-deinterlacing. But that's not the same thing as progressive scan.
Does GSM de-interlace games or does it actually render them at 480P I wonder? Or rather does it just upsacle them?
hm...
