Nice work with all the patches too 47.
Anyway about Abyss if anyone wants to look at it go ahead. This is what I focused on:
AA3F023C E33F023C 398E4234 00088244 00000000
There are 3 instances of this code, only changing the AA in the second instance seems to do anything though. Zoom value is probably something like 803F013C, there's just too many graphical glitches for me to eliminate. If you're a huge Tales you can do it
Could it be that the 3 instances are battle, world/townmap, then cutscenes?
Nah, just editing the second one was enough for everything after I found the zoom value. The patch will be uploaded soon, I got at least a dozen new ones to share
Just got a couple more game I need to attempt, and a little tweaking.
EDIT: k, main post is updated!
A crapload of new patches, some fixes, and even new screens
I have a suggestion to make.
Instead of modifying the ISO/ELF permanently, this could be done on the fly without the need of a HEX Editor etc and without being on near limmits of being kinda illegal:
We could implement a mechanism like the pnach'es (saperate from them or implement a new mechanism to the existing ones is up to you) that would do that routine:
Check CRC -> Go to ELF -> Go to specified address -> Replace the value of that address with the value specified on the patch, all that on the fly.
It could look like this on the pnach (ow whatever you'd call it):
patch=1,ELF,0x307B0C,word,389380AF C0BE060C 3C9380AF 5C3F013C // 389380AF C0BE060C 3C9380AF 803F013C
philosophy:
(patch entery),(type),(address),(type of value),(value to patch) // (original value)
What do you guys think?
Sounds pretty convenient, but is it possible to patch elf on the fly?
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 (U) - SLUS 21873
Is it possible to have a 16/9 patch for DBZ Budokai 3 ?
Wow, I missed quite a few posts this weekend...
synce, I have to return the compliment: Nice work with all the patches
Also thanks to hyakki for keeping the "Full List of Patches" up to date and organized. It's amazing to look at the list and realize how many games have already been patched!
BTW, nice to see Klonoa 2 has been patched (thx, synce), I must try that one soon. I remember finding a vertical fov address, but no "zoom out" (or horizontal fov) address...
Great, the US Tekken Tag 16:9 elf code works for the JP version (SLPS-20015) of Tekken Tag Tournament too
Yeah that HG code works wonders for Klonoa 2, and I just found out it also works with a lot of Simple 2000 games

I updated the main post with a small list. Sadly a good bit of Simple 2000 games don't work with PCSX2 and I can't test on my PS2 (many miles away) so that list isn't comprehensive.
For anyone interested here's a WIP patch for King of Fighters Maximum Impact (tested on MI Maniax, MI2, and MI2 Regulation A)
Code:
zoom
C0010000 ABAAAA3F 00006042 00000000
to
C0010000 388EE33F 00006042 00000000
vert
E0FFBD27 803F013C 00008144 1000B07F
to
E0FFBD27 403F013C 00008144 1000B07F
As you can see in screens below the vert value messes up the HUD in MI. Also, MI2 needs render fix. Fixing MI HUD may simply be impossible, and I couldn't find render value in MI2 (tried variations of 512 and 640), so I'm giving up for now

MI Maniax broken HUD | MI2 missing graphics
UPDATE:
Found some pretty interesting KOF cheats
here.
In particular this one, which completely disables the HUD:
20386D5C 100006AE (RAW)
286DDC: AE066010 > AE060010 (ELF)

Maybe there's something of interest around that area in the ELF. If anyone wants they can take a closer look
