Yeah, the game's age doesn't have much to say in emulation.
The question is how weird and bizarre it got coded.
FFX-2, along with some other games, use the GS in some weird way to present FMV :/
Gabest must be very busy now.Maybe with the new SVN of PCSX2?New GUI will make all the guide has to rewrite again.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Rengou vs. ZAFT II Plus [NTSC]

# Playground1.0.0395, 0.9.6 version, beta.r1474, beta.r1736
# Plugins
Gsdx 1650(MSVC 15.00, SSSE41)

# No Speed Hacks

# Description:
Please see the picture. When using DX10 SW or HW and the option "Allow 8-bit textures" on, the graphics are not proporly displayed. This problem did not happen in Gsdx 1479(MSVC 15.00, SSSE41)0.1.15.
P.S. I've already updated the DirectX10.
Also, a pevious reported camera bug is still there.

Very interesting report. It shows what I already suspected over at the ngemu forums:
The 8 bit texture option doesn't work on some hardware or drivers.
On my nvidia card with latest drivers, I get a perfectly fine picture in that first .gs (Second one only shows up black. Use CTRL+SHIFT+F8 next time Tongue2 ).
sorry for my crappy english (im spanish)
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

i think , this is not a normal cuestion about gdsx...
but.. its necesary... for me XD

Dragon ball Z budokai tenkaichi 3 [NTSC] or [PAL]
1st. the most common problem the "Black flickering"

i use pcsx2 since official 0.9.5 version and this problem never gone
with any pcsx2 or GSDX plugin, official or beta version

many people says:
-you need enable iterlacing
-actualize your gpu drivers
-use this config
-actualize your directX
but all its ok

my spec
-AMD phenom 9500 cuad core 2.2ghz
-Nvidia geforce 8500GT (oc to 780/440x2) drivers (190.38 "of last week")
my oc never causes problems or graphic corruption
-4gb ram (3gb in xp 32 bits)

any cpu or video configuration with or without speedhacks
always in hardware video mode

and i tested it on:
win xp profesional sp2 ,sp3 (DX9)
win xp x64 sp1 (DX9)
win 7 rev7100 x64 (DX9, DX10, DX11)
win vista 32bits (DX9, dx10)

actually i have instaled winXP 32bits professional sp2
only with the necesary actualization
and win7 rev 7100 x64 it is a non dual boot ,
i need active or desactive win vista mbr loader XDD

and the black flickering always is on XD

So... long time ago... two days before chinese page www.romman.net dies
i downloaded the lastest version of hacked pcsx2 of jimmposible,
people says this version its fake with some options on
or a different default emu configuration or this is the 1st version
of pcsx2 with configurable (not hidden) vu skip

but in this version is included gsdx maximum 9.9.9.9
hacked version of gdsx the original gsdx version
of pcsx2 0.9.6 I think

i remember in his post he says "you can use SSE3" for amd,
(all SSxxx version all in one).

without any reazon of this its a fake or not

gdsx maximum its the only version of GSDX plugin
without black flickering problem
but its really slower than the lastest gsdx version (1846)

(vu skip /frame skip, off)
FPS maximum : battles 35-50 , menu 70-90
FPS gdsx 1846: battles 55-90 , menu 90-150

so, my limitant is my amd phenom because pcsx2 only use 2 cores

after this boring explanation... i need to know...

- gsdx maximum 9.9.9.9 is a really a hack?
- the fix for the black flickering is on gdsx maximum ??

Some snapshots:
(glitches are here with or without speedhacks or cpu config)
those snapshots are from win XP 32bits on
in win7... are the same results on dx10 or dx11 mode if is selectable
on the current tested gsdx version 1736 pcsx2 ver
oldest version of pcsf only shows graphic differences on other games
(i remember, i download dx11 version in somewhere in this forum)

Newest GSDX versions have some graphic glitches
look on the goku's ASS XD
[Image: gdsx2.jpg]
black flickering
[Image: gdsx1.jpg]

GSDX maximum (same emu config)
always no black flickering
[Image: max01.jpg]

no graphic glitches, also this have a black borders
[Image: max02.jpg]

no corruption guku's ass like oldest gsdx versions.

finally... GSDX maximum 9.9.9.9 plugin
"donwload it, only testing purpouses"
because its too difficult find this version on internet XD
so.. i think , im the only one who have this version XDDDD

i been tried to explain this by
the better posible way for me

thanks for read all this boring text
We do not allow or support unofficial builds, specially jimmposible ones.
diegochiha: Sorry for deleting your post, it was a ton of quote and one line from you Tongue2

shadowbug:
Yes, the GSdx in that package has been hacked. Most likely with the info we provided here.
So while it may fix (remove) that flickering, it's not meant for the public, and in no way correct.
If you simply down the official releases for GSdx on here, you shouldn't have a flicker problem. I've played that dbz game in pcsx2 with no issues at all.
I get confused about these versions. Which is the best for running Final Fantasy XII? Right now I'm having a lot of slowdown issues. Like when turning, or in certain areas, the framerate just drops. And frame-skip just makes it look retarded. Trying to find the best config possible.

System Specs:
OS: Windows Vista 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E6850 3.0 Ghz
Memory: 4GB Corsair XMS2
Graphics Card: Diamond Radeon 4890 1GB
Recently i have been having a few problems in Final Fantasy XII, basically when spells are cast (not all though, only some like Cure or Warsong) or new areas loaded there has been a quick flicker of the entire screen usually lasting 1/2 a second.

So i disabled all the speed hacks and found the same issue happening, now the issue didn't occur until i had updated past a certain build of GSDX. So i went back trying builds until i found one that didn't do it.

The flicker problem seemed to start from build 1439 onwards, as build 1426 is unaffected by the flicker problem.

I hope this information helps for those annoyed by the flicker when certain spells are cast and areas are loaded.

I have also noticed considerable slowdown in DX10 mode so I'm currently running in DX9.

My specs:
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 Processor
8800GT 512MB Graphics Card
4GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 RAM
Windows 7 64-bit RTM
