Ok, i love to play software mode because of the accuracy. (Don't ask me stick with real hardware, my CRT is broke) My question is what cpu can run game such like namco fighting game full speed on SW mode without hack? Another question is why Soul calibur 3 still missing shadow even use SW mode? Thanks.
Can't tell you about SC3 but wait til June and pick up a 4770k. At stock clocks it can probably run anything, If you overclock it. then it can run anything.

My CPU hasn't run into a game that makes it chug in software mode yet.

Yeah, I realize software mode fixes the issue, but still, software mode is simply not on par with how good hardware mode looks, particularly in terms of upscaling internal resolution and things like that. Not to mention I get some slowdown in software mode, even on my Intel Core i7 950 @ 4.0Ghz.

If this car glitch could be resolved in hardware mode that would be great.
Yeah I wish I knew what about GSdx that makes it so the 2D interface of Xenosaga 3 just friggin chugs. I can run the game at 2-3x but even at native it just tanks in menus.

Doesn't begin to tax my cpu in software mode, but it looks terrible most of the time. If the fidelity could be cleaned at least in half, I'm sure my CPU could run it at 720p.

Also there seems to be an alpha channel bug w/r/t shadows that has never gotten fixed.

That is with 3x scaling in DX11 mode on a GTX670. It could be a performance issue with AMD cards again.
Another thing I noticed: In one of the latest SVN builds, it mentions something about "AMD came out with new drivers! time to get rid of this crappy code now" (don't know if that's related to GSdx tho)

But the issue here is: everything from HD4xxx and before (i have the best 4xxx series available) isn't supported with the newer drivers. Like, they literally do not have the drivers in the newer catalyst packs for those cards to force people to upgrade, from what I read. So I'm stuck on 12.6 forever until I somehow drum up some money to afford a newer graphics card (I'm broke). Even so I'd likely get a GTX670 anyways.
@Gvaz, that code was throwed out from linux build which is still under heavy developement and doesn't work much with hardware mode, you have no worries about windows build.

And for the "best of the series" yes HD4890 is, but the fact is this series is a bit outdated and your gpu equals to a new budget gpu, don't expect it to run everything like it was nothing. My hd5670 runs XS3 menus at around 48fps in native and at x2 which I usually use like 5fps less, but it's not a problem at all, firstly couse I'm happy with this fps at menus, secondly couse if I wasn't, the menus of this game works very well with frameskip(the rest of the game doesn'tTongue). If you want to use it, set your turbo value to 100%, then frames to draw to 1 or 2 and frames to skip around same depending on your needs and use the option "skip when Turbo only" then just use turbo inside the menus either with tab or R3 with lilypad hack and turn it off before leaving the menus(in game it skips loads of graphics). Switching turbo in-game can sometimes freeze the graphics, nothing gamebreaking, just press Turbo key twice again if it happens.
@rama or KrossX:
According to my tests the best TC-offset settings for "Project Zero 3" (and assumably "Fatal Frame 3") is:
X=395
Y=1000
If the X-value exceeds 397 annoying vertical lines appears,
thus reducing one problem by indirectly creating another.
Interested in adding this to automatic CRC-fixes? Cool
CRC's:
3F651512 * NTSC-J * Zero III - Shisei no Koe
2ADBA7BC * NTSC-U * Fatal Frame 3 - The Tormented
23B754F4 * PAL-M5 * Project Zero 3 - The Tormented
NTSC-K - ? - maybe "99skull" can tell us

@devina40 (and anyone else):
Any comment about these settings?
I wanted to edit my post in here, but this seems more proper place to post this, the thread was basically about stupid heaviness which doesn't show on cpu nor gpu usage in DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 split screen mode.
I answered like I did beliving it's the characters which causes the heaviness limiting the game by awfully heavy bandwidth requirements, but now I had a moment of weakness(for addiction I mean;p) and decided to check it properly. Everything's correct except that it's not the characters but shading on them, just look:

Shading ON:
[attachment=44516]

Shading OFF:
[attachment=44517]

Clearly visible change in FPS and more importantly I got cpu limited in compare to not being able to see the limitation with shading at all(that includes checking gpu usage as well;p)

This works in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 as well as 2.

It does come at cost, since it does remove an effect one of the last ones which weren't yet removed in official svn from those games;p, but since it's totally optional ~ activated with an agressive CRC hack and well, the price isn't soo huge for being able to occasionally play with friend or family member without owning top end hardware nor decreasing the internal resTongue. It also doesn't affect anything else, managed to remove just that, leaving the rest of those two games untouched.

Oh and also, while I normally always "have to" keep "allow 8 bit textures" to keep this game playable even at single player mode, this "speedhack" makes it able to run totally without it, since the shading was apparently that heavy 8 bit texture.;p

It's just a simple skipdraw hack, hence I would recommend that to be included in svn, here's the patch which includes also dialog(agressiveCRC) update:
[attachment=44518]

blah I feel like starting to specialize in "skipdraw speedhacks" @_@;
pgert and miseru:
Both of your hacks / settings are very specific to your setups and playing habits.
We shouldn't stuff GSdx any more with these kinds of patches.
