Quite high fps you are getting with GTX750Ti. But I am surprised Jak eyes are fixed with it I thought eyes were caused by the lack of mipmapping, does mipmapping work when cache is disabled ? Could someone test bugs in Snowblind engine games, Ratchet games and Ace Combat games with cache disabled ? I wonder about fps with strong gpus like GTX980/Titan/290X. I right now don't have access to fast enough PC to properly test it myself.

Cpu plays a major role than the Gpu so, there's no use trying it with a higher end gpu unless at upscaled resolution's.

No the eyes are reliant on the texture cache. The textures in Ratchet and Clank are reliant on mipmapping.

It's no use. The GPU isn't the issue. My GPU load is only about 30%. The CPU isn't the issue either. I guess faster RAM (2400+ MHz) might help.

Strange indeed. I got the same fps after restarting. Have you tried other games? What is the speed of your RAM?

The cache works differently in software mode, and I think the compile time flag only disables it for HW mode. (DISABLE_HW_TEXTURE_CACHE) which is why it says "HW" in there. So software mode performance would be the same.

The eyes are not a mipmapping issue, they are a texture cache issue. In the GSdx Memory Coherency thread I posted last page they talk about that.

System RAM or Video RAM?

System RAM:
Dial Channel 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz(9.9.9.28.2T)

Video RAM:
Memory : 2048MB / 128bit
DRAM Type : GDDR5
Clock : 1202MHz (Base) / 1281MHz (Boost)
Memory Clock : 3004MHz (DDR 6008MHz)

I didn't tried any other game
Since the texture cache is off, system ram would be what matters I think.

Thank you. I mean the system RAM.

Anyway, texture cache is a feature that caches textures on the VRAM, correct? If it's disabled, textures will be uploaded from the system RAM to the VRAM every time they are needed. In that case, I guess the speed of the system RAM directly impacts the performance.

In case of iGPUs/APUs, does the program read textures directly from the system RAM or does it still upload/copy the textures?
3000 MHz VRAM? nope? aren't that 6000 those 1500 quad (x4) pumped? ... doesn't matter tho. it's fast. Laugh

and i thought the literal CACHE saves conversion of... or general texture uploads aka in software aka cpu time and pci transfers. a fast cpu and system could handle it in time on it's thread. that's why it might work. and i guessed already the glitch is perhaps a faulty cache reference on seperate primitive streams. can't think of a fix tho. just saying. Smile

good question. Wink i guess it depends on the driver. it should. that is literally that hUMA (heterogeneous unified memory architecture) feature. i have no experience with that tho.
Is there anyway to get more speed in "Star Ocean : Till the end of time" using software rendering? I prefer software renderer in all situations because it is more accurate, hardware mode completely skips the shadows as someone stated earlier in this thread.

Anyway, as it is - the FPS will drop to low 40's sometimes during battle and also in certain areas, the world where there is lots of ice (can't remember it's name) when the ice is in view FPS drops to low 40's. Using hardware I get full speed but then there are no shadows...

My specs are i5 2500k @ 4.4Ghz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, AMD 7850 2GB GPU, MSI z77 mobo. I'm wondering if faster ram might speed it up a bit? I'm running 8GB @ 1600Mhz, would 2400Mhz ram give me the required boost if that is the bottleneck or is it more CPU speed that is required? With me already at 4.4Ghz and it dropping nearly 20fps in some areas like the one with ice i don't think anymore OC on my cpu would help much. Maybe if I got an i7 4790k with new mobo and overclocked that to around 4.4 I might get full speed? Again I'm really not interested in hardware mode due to it's inaccuracies even though it does run full speed.

Also, while I'm here - is there any fix for the complete and utter lack of shadows getting rendered in Soul Calibur 3 in any mode, software or hardware? Is there a specific reason they don't get rendered?
