First just remove the controller from Bluetooth Devices and start fresh. For some reason I can never pair my controller via BT using the 'A bluetooth device is trying to connect' popup box. So I usually ignore that, right click on the BT system tray icon, go "Add Device" then pair using a code (the middle option). I use 0000 for the pairing code. Works a charm for me.

See if that makes any difference.

Don't see any option to add using a code.

Didn't work.. i dont think anything is wrong with my bluetooth as i said before it was working fine for months, ever since i started using this program its having this problem.. my controller disconnects from BT when windows is trying to install its drivers.
Yet the program does not act directly on the bluetooth but uses the data received.
"this device indicates hardware failure...."
yeah it broke.

Do you know someone with Windows 8 and BT so you can test it?

For anyone feeling adventurous and considering windows 8, microsoft offers a 90 day trial of enterprise (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...71457.aspx). Just keep in mind that if you decide to buy you will probably need to reinstall everything (unless you buy enterprise version).
Just make sure you install the program classic shell if you like having a start menu.

here's some further reading on possible fixes:

It does sound like its a problem with the way windows 7 is handling the drivers/registry for BT. Kinda sad to have to think about getting windows 8 over this, but honestly its not a bad OS. If your anything like me you just set it to desktop boot and never look at the start screen unless there is no other choice for a setting Wink (like bluetooth settings ironically enough..lol)

Edit: you might also look into this, its worth a shot anyways: http://bluetoothinstaller.com/

thanks for your help but i give up il just play wired..
just bothers me how it was working perfectly fine before..
I was never able to make it work with windows 7 bluetooth drivers, it always disconnected after pairing with the 0000 code. The only way I can make it work is with toshiba's bluetooth stack but thous drivers are for toshiba devices only which required some messing around with a crack and stuff. Still the controller itself works with win7 just fine but with this tool it recognizes the controller and everything look fine but when i try it on the properties window everything is all messed up (dpad up appears pressed all the time and analogs are all weird and stuff) but it works wired just fine.
InhexSTER,

could you please release the source code or open source code to your DS4 xinput wrapper?
INHEXSTER,

When i connect ps4 controller, it's work fine, before opening of your software.

But is it possible : open your software, and ONLY after turn on controller ds4 without click Stop and Start buttons ?

Thanks a lot.
Im using windows 8.1 and it works perfectly im using manufacturer drivers for my Bluetooth Rocketfish Bluetooth Adapter best 20 bucks I ever spent I play wireless 100 percent of the time unless im charging duhhh I do have a small issue tho the touch pad setup could be much better and you cant seem to be able to drag and drop and in some games left mouse button L1 with active touch pad doesn't work properly but aside from that it perfect just wish he would change the activation to L2 pov up to activate L2 pov down to deactivate and turned the touch pad button to right mouse click and ps button to left mouseclick
The tool works awesome for me so far! I've been using it since it came out and I originally didn't like the L1 left click R1 right click, but it works perfect for Hearthstone and the like. However, can you make a second mode where you can keep it always on during games by just making clicking down on it clicking? I'd like that to casualize it so you don't have to memorize any hotkey setups. Also, is there anyway you can make a hotkey from the controller to disconnect it? I'd like that so I can reconnect it without having to either wait to reconnect it or restart the program, defeating the purpose of having a controller.
